Hockley is a James Braid designed course dating from 1914 set on a beautiful piece of the South Downs National Park with stunning views across the city of Winchester and south towards the coast. At  6,420 yards from the white tees, the par 71 course (par 72 for ladies at 5,677 yards from the red tees) is not long by modern standards.  It is enjoyable for every standard of player but when the breeze is up it’s a great challenge for even the best golfers https://www.hockleygolfclub.com/

We will be playing a four ball stableford better ball format.  Each team member though has to play with the ‘teamArchie’ pink ball (two provided per team) for minimum of 4 holes in the round – the player is selected at the beginning of each hole. Pink ball scores doubles the player’s stableford score for the hole so losing them could be a scoring disadvantage (additional balls can be purchased for £20 before the round).  Mulligans can be purchased at £10 per player before the round and could prove very useful if combined with a pink ball! Team Captains are responsible for registering and collection of the team card, understanding the rules, scoring, purchase of pink balls / mulligans before play.  Individuals are welcome to register and can form teams on the day or be introduced to a team of three.
