Happy New Year from teamArchie

Our fabulous inaugural Christmas concert celebrated both the incredible young people we have supported in 2023 and the start of inspirational new projects for 2024

Highlights of the evening were two poems written and read by Malu and Arya who attended the First Story summer residential supported by teamArchie.

James and Claire were also honoured to be invited to First Story’s 30th birthday party in June at Clarence House where they were introduced to the Queen.

We welcomed Alfie back from crossing the Atlantic to Uruguay as part of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. He is now back in London teaching children to sail on the Thames at the Ahoy Centre in Deptford…

… and we were delighted to hear from Eirlys (another of the interviewees for the Clipper Bursary) who, after a little help with sailing qualifications, has spent 2023 supporting other young people on sail training vessels before starting a boatbuilding course in 2024.

2023 saw the start of our collaboration with Youth Sport Trust International and the Alsama Project to give young cricketers the opportunity to teach in the refugee camps of Lebanon. Willa and Sol set out for Beirut at the beginning of October but sadly their stay was cut short by the hostilities in Israel. We hope they will be able to return to Lebanon and their talented and enthusiastic pupils very soon.

The Christmas concert saw the launch of our new collaboration with Future Talent which will provide support for young musicians from low income backgrounds. Early in 2024 we will begin the search for talented brass players who will be mentored by trumpet soloist and teamArchie ambassador Matilda Lloyd.

Once the New Year festivities are over don’t forget in our Aprés Ski party we have the perfect antidote to the January blues. Join us at Neverland in Fulham on 19th January to help support our work with Snow Camp . Early bird tickets still available!
