As a youngster, Jahir had a passion for football as well but his love for cricket quickly outgrew any others and he began solely focusing his skills on the game at the age of 13. A late starter to the game, Jahir had some setbacks after unsuccessful trials at London Schools Cricket and Surrey, as well as struggling to find a club to call home, having spells with Streatham CC and Purley CC. But, after joining Beddington CC and, later, the ACE Programme, Jahir felt welcomed and at home, enjoying his cricket more than ever, devoted to working as hard as possible to achieve his dream. One of his coaches at the ACE Programme, Chevy, believes these efforts have translated to vast improvements in the consistency of his game, and that he is on the cusp of a successful county trial.
Having just completed his first year of studies at the University of Bradford, reading Business and Law, Jahir plans to trial for the MCCU team and test himself against other University teams and professional County sides.
