IT ALL STARTED WHEN…

I cannot believe 3 years has passed since I passed my UEFA B which the Archie Lloyd Foundation help support me with. At the time I was a York College studying an Extended Diploma in Sport Coaching, Fitness and development whilst doing my coach at the York City FC Regional Talent Club where I coached the Under 12-16 age group.

Once I completed my  2 year college course I moved onto University doing a Sports Coaching Degree at Leeds Beckett University. I arrived there as a fresher and asked if I could help with one of their football teams. I was surprised when they offered me the role of 1 st team coach for the 1st Team Women.  I went on the coach them for 2 seasons, in my second season with them we came 3rd in the Northern Premier League. In my final year at University  I was offered a coaching role with Bradford City FC Academy. I am now lead coach for the U10s at the Academy, being able to do this coaching has supported my studies.

During lockdown I have continued with my University studies and completing my Dissertation. I graduate this July. I have loved the course and gain so much experience/knowledge. In September I have decided to go onto study further by completing a PGCE within a school in Leeds. I have not given up and my dream to becoming a full time coach someday, but feel this option of teaching will allow me to continue to coach evenings and weekends with Bradford City Academy until which time I have enough experience and contacts within the game to progress into coaching full time. I enjoy my coaching and the transition into teaching will allow me to expand my knowledge and experience to develop young lives.
